For over 30 years, Flint River Habitat for Humanity has devoted its energy to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to those families who qualify. Habitat for Humanity helps make the dream of homeownership become a reality.
The Artesian City Car Club is proud to support Flint River Habitat for Humanity during 2018. The club has designated Habitat as the charity of benefit for the 45th Anniversary Car Show on October 13, 2018.
Flint River Habitat for Humanity currently has three programs in place in Dougherty and Lee counties in Georgia, supported by individual, business, and corporate contributions, and income from the ReStore:
Homeownership Program
Habitat’s goal is to provide a safe, affordable place for everyone to live. The Homeownership Program provides a way for a Habitat homeowner to purchase a home with a low down payment and a 0% interest loan. Basic qualifications for the homeownership program are:
the applicant does not currently own a home
the applicant has good credit (or the willingness and ability to improve their credit)
the applicant is not in active bankruptcy
the applicant is willing and able to live in Dougherty or Lee counties
HUD income guidelines regarding the number of persons within the household are applied.
Veteran Homeownership Program
The Veteran Homeownership Program is similar to the Homeownership Program, with specific emphasis to assist military veterans. This program is made possible by the generosity of local individuals, businesses, and corporations, including Wells Fargo.
Veteran Repair Program
In partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, Habitat provides a Veteran Repair Program. Funds provided The Home Depot Grant are used to provide critical repairs to veteran homeowners:

Shopping at the ReStore is a great way to help give back to the community. The ReStore also accepts donations of unused building materials, gently-used appliances and furniture, and other household items. Donations are tax-deductible, and pick-up is available for certain large items.
The ReStore is located at 1908 N Slappey Blvd, Albany, GA, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
